Stellar Crisis Battle Calculator (Java version)

This Stellar Crisis Battle Calculator* was placed in the public domain by the author, Mike Wise (aka mark9). I used to use his non-Java calculator, originally listed on Mike's page, in long term games when I feel I have a handle on my foe's BR level. I can match my building to the enemy's ships. Of course, if there is a cloaked ship involved, I could be in trouble.

Mike said the calculator was a fairly trivial Java application, and was written over a six month period in 1997 (up and running in October). He used JDK 1.02 (available from Sun). Because he took so long in finishing the project, Sun Systems had moved on to JDK 1.1.4 with a much different event model.

The program may compile under JDK 1.1.x, though the compiler will complain.

There are two short source files, Sccalc.java and Scfleet.java. The whole program can be found in Sccalc.zip.

This package should run just about anywhere. To install it on your machine, just unzip Sccalc.zip into a directory, and then load Sccalc.html (this file) into a Java enabled browser. You can also install it on a home page this way.

For those wishing to get the calculator on their home page, ftp the files to your directory. Use text for *.java and html files, binary for zip. I then sent the files to my server, using raw data for binary, text for text.

*Of note: If you don't see a calculator when you loaded this page, it's because Java is either turned off or because your browser does not support Java.
