Not much to tell here. I'm not real sure why I got the nuke so early. The map shows me about to nuke Mágica's system with a BR2 fleet. He built and hit end turn pretty fast. So I checked at the system menu how many ships he had, built a couple more attacks than he had and hit end turn. As he moved his six ships into Ipanema Girls!, I moved my eight ships in. The map shows five of mine survived, including a colony and minesweep.
I was unable early to keep him from colonizing Ipanema Girls! I tried but he managed to get more BR1 ships there than I could muster. Since none of his ships for several moves were sci ships, I did not build and let my colonies thrive and my technical advancement move up. When he finally did come my way with a science ship, I had BR2. I think he reached BR2 a turn later, though.
Anyway, I had three attacks and a minesweep, all BR2 (not BR3 as I told him over diplomacy) on top of his home world. He had moved two attacks onto my now colonized Ipanema Girls!. He built three attacks and a minefield on his home world. I don't think he could build them to full strength. He must have thought he could nuke Ipanema Girls! with one ship and bring the other back to his home world. For some reason, he got nuked. I know my ships were close to full strength. That might have made a difference.
