Again, the name of my empire has been changed to protect it (the innocent). I was playing Master Blaster again tonight, April 7, 1998. After the game I found this old map. I guess this explains why he didn't want to settle for a draw with me.
In a Techno-blitz I often will build a stargate early knowing that it will pay for itself in getting colonies to the front quicker then my foes.
It's been awhile since I played this game, but I remember nuking stejar early. His planets helped a lot. I was able to explore to the east. I found Kedron has left, nuked him, then moved on. That's when I found his back planet was next to Junction. I opened a link and, oh boy, I had a bunch more systems to colonize while keeping a road block at step forward.
Master Blaster and AGENT X kept fighting, as they should since you can't ally in a Techno-blitz, but it sure helped me in that I didn't get a huge fleet coming at me.
Eventually, I got a nuke of everyone in this game. It helped my nuke to win ratio a lot. In fact, my empire is now ranked in the top 10! For those wanting to climb to the top 10 at Cybernex, it will take you about four months of playing every couple days.
In closing, I must say Master Blaster was a good sport in our second meeting. I couldn't get in some builds and pop changes at the system menu. Thjat cost me four builders!!
I did get a colony through and was about to get three nice systems, and I did have BR8 capability to his BR7. But with so little economy, you know I took his offer of draw very fast as he was almost 2-1 on economy. We all know, 2-1 in economy, your gone. Hey!
